2025: The Year AI Woke Up (and Forced Us to Wake Up)

2023 was the year of amazement; 2024, the year of adoption; and this 2025, has been, without a doubt, the year of awakening. But not only that of the machines. Our own as well.

In this week’s content, I gather the essence of all the analyses published in my blog throughout the year. We will not discuss incremental improvements or “new versions” of ChatGPT. We will discuss a change of era. A major technological transition that has crossed three thresholds: agency, embodiment, and algorithmic autonomy.

2025 will be remembered as the year we stopped talking to AI and started living with it. A year in which machines not only responded, but acted. And in many cases, they decided.

From Generation to Execution: The Year of the Agents

Until now, you would give a chatbot an instruction, and it would respond with text. The end. In 2025, that will be a thing of the past.

This year we saw the birth of a new digital species: autonomous agents. Programs capable not only of understanding, but also of perceiving, reasoning, and executing tasks in the real world. From browsing the Internet and verifying sources in real time, to moving the mouse on your computer, to opening an Excel sheet and filling it with data they have searched and synthesized without you lifting a finger.

We saw it with tools like Operator or Comet, capable of controlling a computer as a human assistant would. We saw it in the transformation of customer service, in business automation or in financial research. And we will see it more and more in sectors where execution is key.

2. B2A Marketing: When the Customer is an Algorithm

Yes, you read that right. In 2025, in many cases, you are no longer selling to people, but to algorithms.

Welcome to the world of Brand to Agent (B2A), where your end customer can be an agent that compares, filters, and decides for the human. According to data analyzed on the blog, 24% of consumers already let an AI shop for them. Among Gen Z, that percentage jumps to 32%.

Concrete example? Amazon already allows its AI to buy from you outside of Amazon, filling out forms, browsing other stores and closing the transaction. You just need to say, “buy me some comfortable, black, size 43 sneakers.” The AI does the rest.

This brutal change forces us to rethink marketing. It is no longer enough to excite humans. Now you have to seduce algorithms. How?

  • Share of Model: Does your brand show up in LLM responses? If you don’t exist for the AI, you don’t exist for the buyer.

  • Structured data: clear diagrams, prices, stock, machine-readable conditions.

  • SEO for agents: not only for Google, but also for the engines that feed agents.

  • CTAi: Signals designed for AI: ★ 4.9/5, real stock, “free shipping” well visible.

3. The Personification: The AI Descends from Digital Olympus

The vast majority of AI models, until now, had known everything but had never interacted with the physical world. They read about gravity, but never saw an apple fall.

That changed in 2025 with Controllable World Models, such as Marble, that not only predict words but also physical states. What will happen if you push a box, if a robot turns, or if a room is empty or full?

This is key for AI to move beyond software and become embodied in drones, robots, and micro-machines. We talk about:

  • Insect-inspired flying micro-robots capable of entering cracks, inspecting structures, or pollinating vertically.

  • Humanoid robots such as NEO, intended not only as labor, but also as emotional companions.

The AI is starting to tread on the ground. Literally.

4. The Cloud Moves into Space

Did you know that training a single state-of-the-art AI model can consume more energy than a medium-sized city?

2025 was also the year of the physical limit of computation. The planet can’t take any more. And the solution began to orbit: data centers in space.

Satellites like Starcloud-1, equipped with GPUs, cooled by the vacuum of space and powered by the sun, began to redefine the infrastructure of the future.

It’s not science fiction: it’s physics. And it’s economics.

5. The Human Impact: Work, Mind and Truth

But the result of this technology is already impacting us and may redefine our future in a few years.

In 2025 we have seen:

  • Disappearance of junior jobs: no more basic tasks to train new ones. AI makes them faster and cheaper.

  • Voice as a Psychological Risk: AI that speaks like us generates emotional dependence, especially in lonely or vulnerable people.

  • The Truth Crisis: voice cloning, deepfakes, fake content generated by machines for other machines.

We identified five professions that are likely to outlive AI because of human preference, not efficiency:

  1. Trusted accountants

  2. Teachers and caregivers

  3. Artisans and artists

  4. Spiritual advisors

  5. Charismatic leaders

Human labor is ceasing to be cheap… to become valuable for what it is: human.

6. Dubai and the New Geopolitics of AI

While the West regulates, Dubai executes. That is the great geopolitical lesson of 2025.

In 2025, Dubai consolidated its position as the world’s fourth major artificial intelligence hub, behind Singapore, Beijing, and Seoul, and ahead of San Francisco….

Its formula? Simple and powerful: the state as a laboratory. While other countries regulate or debate, Dubai executes. Each public entity has its own Chief AI Officer, and innovation is tested in real-world environments through regulatory sandboxes that minimize legal friction.

The strategy is clear: first test, then regulate. And the result is an ecosystem that attracts talent and capital at a steady pace.

2025 was not a year of tools. It was a year of decisions.

To choose whether we continue to see AI as a passive tool or as a new species with which we coexist, collaborate… or compete.

What do you think? Do you feel you are collaborating with AI or just watching from the sidelines? Is your company already optimizing for agent use? Is your job at risk or being redefined?

Leave me your comments, questions or ideas for future content. This is a space to think together about this future that is no longer tomorrow… it is today.

Happy New Year!
