In my video last week I mentioned a new smartphone device based on generative artificial intelligence, the Rabbit R1. at the moment. this device is the closest thing I’ve seen to an AI-powered, voice-driven Personal Assistant.
I am convinced that we are facing a new category of devices, and this is just the beginning of what awaits us. Generative AI is fostering highly disruptive changes in relation to the use of technology.
My view on Personal Assistants
I imagine a not-too-distant future where each of us can have a hyper-personalized personal assistant. A digital companion that not only understands our needs perfectly but also continuously learns and adapts through our daily interactions. These assistants will not be mere tools, but true partners in our daily management, making our lives easier in ways we are just beginning to explore.
Optimized communication and organization
In the future, our personal assistants will be able to handle all our communications with impressive efficiency. Imagine an assistant who not only manages your emails and text messages but also understands the context and importance of each interaction. This assistant could prioritize responses according to urgency or even respond on our behalf based on previous communication patterns.
One interesting use case that could be provided is the real-time translation of a conversation with another person. This could help us in our travels or in our interactions with people from other countries in our personal and professional lives.
Proactive Time Management
The organization of time will be another relevant element. These assistants will have access to our calendars and even permissions to the calendars of key people in our environment, allowing us to coordinate meetings and events without schedule conflicts. Moreover, they will be able to anticipate future needs, such as booking an additional meeting room or adjusting schedules in response to last-minute changes, all proactively.
I imagine the personal assistant receiving our emails and taking actions such as changing the time of an appointment or changing a restaurant reservation under our supervision in a natural conversation with our assistant in which we validate those changes. Cool, isn’t it?
Planning and Autonomous Execution
This autonomous planning will be revolutionary. These wizards will be able to organize complete trips, from booking flights and hotels to creating detailed itineraries, all aligned with our personal preferences and prior commitments. In addition, autonomous shopping will become a reality, where our assistants will be able to place online orders, from groceries to personalized gifts, based on our current shopping history and preferences. In fact, if you watch the video of the presentation of this device, you will see how through artificial vision of the food we have in our refrigerator, the AI can propose, for example, a recipe.
Health and Wellness Assistance
Extending their capabilities even further, these personal assistants will also play a crucial role in managing our health and well-being. They will be able to monitor our health habits, suggest dietary adjustments, remind us to take medications, and even book medical appointments. Their intervention will not be invasive, but a subtle and constant form of support in our daily lives.
If the assistant also has access to our devices or health applications such as smart rings or smart watches, it can suggest the need for a medical consultation after verifying that some biometric data is outside the appropriate range.
But let’s take a look at some details about one of these early Personal Assistants, the Rabbit R1.
Who is behind this technology?
Rabbit INC, is the San Francisco-based American company that has developed the Rabbit R1.
The company’s vision is to develop the simplest and most intuitive computer that can be used without prior learning, using a natural language-based approach rather than application-based operating systems.
Jesse, Rabbit’s founder and CEO, recently presented this device in a video that is not to be missed.
Since its launch, the Rabbit R1 has captured the attention and admiration of users around the world, with more than 40,000 units initially sold. Its innovative approach to combining AI and user interaction has not only fascinated many but also promises to transform today’s technology landscape.
What is this device like?
The Rabbit r1, also called “Companion” or pocket companion, features a revolutionary user interface driven by Artificial Intelligence.
This device, unlike today’s smartphones, will is capable of dialoguing, understanding, and executing tasks for the user. without relying on multiple applications and offers a more direct and efficient interaction.
It stands out for integrating AI with unique hardware that acts almost like a personal intercom. This allows you to communicate directly with the AI to perform various tasks simply and efficiently. Need to send a message, get directions, or even take a picture? Simply press the button to speak and start interacting with the device using your voice.
It has its own operating system, the Rabbit OS. This system not only manages the device’s functionalities, but also learns from your usage patterns to adapt and offer an increasingly personalized experience. Thanks to the Integrated LAM (Large Action Model)The Rabbit OS learns and handles applications in a human-like manner, improving with every interaction.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Rabbit R1 is its rotating camera. This camera is activated only when you decide to take a picture, which is not only practical but also ensures your privacy. In addition, the device features a touch screen that displays useful information on easily accessible cards, responding to your natural language commands.
LAM, What is it?
It is a technology used in the Rabbit R1 device, based on a personal artificial intelligence (AI) agent designed to manage smartphone applications and automate tasks through voice commands. LAM is a model within Rabbit OS, the device’s operating system, that allows the AI to learn and use applications as a human would, understanding and executing commands on various interfaces.
LAM is designed to bridge the communication gap between users and technology, making it easier for users to perform tasks without having to navigate through multiple applications or press numerous buttons. By learning from user interactions, LAM can adapt and improve over time, providing a more personalized and efficient user experience.
What are the advantages of the technologies we now use?
Current models of smartphones and intelligent assistants such as Siri, Alexa, or Cortana often do not fully understand the user or do not fully execute the requested tasks. I have been a Siri user for years, and I sincerely think that Apple’s AI used in its devices is far from being considered efficient…
Rabbit seeks to overcome these limitations in the effective execution of actions that we request using our voice.
It is an autonomous device that basically works using natural language through a more intuitive human-machine interface.
It includes innovative features such as a 360-degree rotating camera, connection to global 4G LTE networks, and an interface optimized for fast and efficient responses.
This device can perform multiple tasks, from searching for information online to managing connected devices and services, all through voice commands or direct interaction without the need for traditional applications. This device is very competitively priced at $199, with no subscriptions or hidden fees.
As mentioned above, its accessibility stands out in comparison with other technologies currently available on the market.
I am convinced that we are at the beginning of amazing changes in the way we use technology and Artificial Intelligence is being the catalyst. It is going to change everything, without a doubt.
Therefore, I encourage you not to hide your head under your wing but to educate yourself to understand how you can take advantage of it. Your future depends on it.
Good week!
